faq

1. Can any level of experience join the trip?

Yes, every resident is welcome to join us on the ski trip. For those who have not skied before, we have two suggestions: hire an instructor from Lake Louise for that day or go to Canada Olympic Park for a lesson before the trip. These options are quite affordable if you find a group of friends to go together. RAA will not provide or facilitate the planning of any instruction or lesson.

2. Why is it so early?

The trip is set to last from 6:50am to 7:00pm to ensure you get the best value for your money—that is, more time on the hill!

3. What does the cost include?

The price includes transportation round-trip between residence and Lake Louise and your lift ticket/tubing pass.

4. Can my friend who doesn't live in residence come?

In short, yes. You will be required to pay for your friend through your own residence account and will be held responsible for their behaviour on the trip. It is up to you to get the money from your friend after you have consented to their ticket being charged to your account, RAA and Residence Services cannot assist you with this. Contact us if this is something you're interested in!

5. Where can I get equipment ?

The Outdoor Center in KNB 180 rents out helmets, downhill skis, ski boots, ski poles, snowboards and snowboard boots. As they don't open until 8am, make sure to get your equipment the day before we go up. You can find out more information about Outdoor Center rentals here.

If you are unable to get equipment from the outdoor center, you can also rent helmets, downhill skis, ski boots, ski poles, snowboards and snowboard boots at Lake Louise, although it is more expensive and will cut into your skiing time. You can find more information about Lake Louise rentals here.

If you are in need of any other equipment, such as a ski jacket or snow pants, you can rent that all at Lake Louise as well. You can find more information about Lake Louise clothing rentals here.
